ahhhhhh.so it's boxing day, the day after xmas.well xmas wasnt what i expected at all.firstly we were supposed to be up cameron highlands on xmas itself.but because of my grandpa being admitted to hospital we cancelled the whole malaysia trip.  a scene at the hospital.my grandma feeding my grandpa oranges =) sweet? so i guess we'll be hoping for his speedy recovery and hope that he'll be discharged soon! oh u know how i spent xmas? we didnt do anythng the whole morning other than mope around the house.and then when we decided to go to east coast to cycle in the afternoon/evening, it POURED.just as we rented the bikes. and so instead of cycling for the 2h we rented, we returned them like less than 30mins i think. and dinner was at thomson longhouse.just like a regular meal of everyday food. and that was xmas.hurray ! eliz shared a cookie at Friday, December 22, 2006

my sister and i went shopping !we bought the same white skirt.i think it's nice cos it's pleated and it's kinda long.so wont show my fat thighs.haha.and it's quite wide at the bottom, flare i think so it's not too tight.

anyway i was just kidding. that's my sister's NANYANG UNIFORM ! haaaahaaaaaaaa.i duno how she's going to wear it.it's so freaky long.looks like we can hula in it ! =) grandparents are here too.it's been pretty weird cos we cant exactly do what we do (like shout around and talk nonsense).haha. and im going msia tml morning.early morning.luckily the areas im going arent affected by the flood.thank goodness.hope it'll remain fine throughout the trip. eliz shared a cookie at Tuesday, December 19, 2006

since i have nothing much happening now other than my grandparents coming soon i shall post about hairy crabs !actually this happened quite a while ago when it was the hairy crab season but we ran out of batts for the cam.ha. anyway dad brought back 10+ hairy crabs from suzhou when he went and so we decided to steam them with wine. so here's the process :  their last few mins.and our last shot of them alive =\ goodbye !  tadah ! all done to perfection ! look at the steam rising.lol.

SWITZERLANDfirst part of my trip and probably the nicest.though it was the coldest and quite a shock. went up three mountains in three consecutive days.all were pretty but looked about the same (haha). and the worst was.. MARCHE ! it's now downgraded in my mind to a toilet stop area.ohno. cant upload all the pics cos there are loads more.here's the nicest few =)

MILAN the first part of Italy which we visited and it was streaked with graffiti.quite a sad sight for the country which won the world cup. and beware of pickpockets ! many afro-americans try to peddle u fake goods and they could snatch stuff from u. not many pictures cause there wasn't much to see.mainly shopping (which i barely did).i think to the italians, buying Gucci, LV, and all the branded goods is lyk buying Giordano and Hang Ten.  Castello Sforzescoa castle built by Leonardo Da Vinci.now it hosts art exhibitions though.  The Duomothe famous church in Milan and it's under restoration.apparently it takes 25 years to restore a certain part before they move on to restore another.so it'll probably never be totally restored.there's a huge statue of the Virgin Mary which stands at 4m and it's covered in gold !  Galleria Vittorio Emanuelethe largest shopping mall in Milan.complete with branded shops like Gucci, Prada, Lv.and it's totally packed ! i was reallie scared of getting pickpocketed there though.and there's fabulous thick hot chocolate for only 5Euros per cup !  Swarovski christmas treeit's a tree dangling with swarovski ornaments ! reallie pretty and right in the middle of the shopping centre. eliz shared a cookie at Sunday, December 10, 2006

VENICE the second last part before rome was venice. i think it's reallie a beautiful place.the buildings are reallie nice.i got my birthday present from there too =p they gave us a glass blowing demonstration and i think it's reallie nice ! i dont mind learning myself.but the stuff was too expensive to buy though.it's called Murano glass and it's quite hardy.cracking it on glass wont break it. sadly it's sinking cos of the massive influx of tourists each year.i think the tour guide said 4million tourists go each year. so better go before it sinks !  Venicewe took a watertaxi from someplace and entered from the river (i dont know issit reallie a river) on the left.the boat looking things on the left are actually gondolas which are driven by a single person.

so im back !wheeeeeee.the long awaited holiday is over in a short 12 days. the trip was nice except the 12h flight was a little too long. but anyway shall break my posts up into the various places i went.starting with ROME though that was the last part of the trip. i think im scared of going to rome again.u know they have 2million cars and it's as though all the cars are out at the same time. there's traffic jams on the highways, on the roads and even 2 ways roads.if it normally takes you 10mins to get somewhere, u can wait for 1h+ if there's a jam. and not only that.there are people everywhere.when we were queuing to get into the musuem and the sisteen chapel, there was this snaking queue was spanned around the whole building.i think it was lyk 400m long.and we queued for one-and-a-half hours just to get in.and inside.oh gosh.it's worse than a can of sardines. but overall i think rome has beautiful architecture.look at the buildings.ahhhh.  The Leaning Tower of Pisaapparently only 40+ of the 160+ pillars are oringial.the rest were restored cos it must be tilting too much  Scenic view of Florence The Sisteen Chapel in Romedoes it look familiar? yeah you'd probably seen the pope talking to the people standing from on top of this building  The Colosseum in Romeapparently the wooden floor rotted away after all these years so we can see the tunnels underneath.i guess those were used to hide all the animals and probably the people victims before they were led out =  Our last gelato in Romethey have pretty weird flavours.my sis asked what was a particular yellow-ish orange gelato.turns out it was egg (ewwwwwww). eliz shared a cookie at |
