now it's lunch time and the pantry is full.so ive resigned back to my work desk and can finally take time to blog !anyway checked my mail and there's an application confirmation from nus.  Has anyone watched 涙そうそう nada sousou? i watched it on the flight back from hk.which i thought was pretty weird since it just opened over the wkend here.anyway the plot is pretty simple and slow moving, but it's kinda touching at the same time.it's abt this brother-and-sister relationship (though they arent related) and how the brother (named kota but is referred to as nee-nee) struggles to fund his younger sister's (kaoru)education cos her dad abandoned her and her mom died from some illness.and eventually she makes it to uni and all but the ending is quite sad. my mom, sisters and i ended up crying on the plane ! anyway it's quite a sweet movie if ure not looking for anythng too action packed.go catch it at the cinemas ! and today i decided on my uni course. (drumroll) BUSINESS ADMIN ! i think that's the right course for me.so shall not ponder over my choices now.more or less decided shall fill up the application form later on. hooray ! after wks of worrying eliz has finally made up her indecisive mind ! eliz shared a cookie at Saturday, March 24, 2007

after 5 days of waking up at 545, im so glad it's the weekend ! though i got up at 8 just to go to visit the nus campus.anyway i actually kinda decided on 1. food science and tech 2. business admin 3. applied chem BUT after viewing the campus of the first two choices, im having a change of heart and second thoughts abt how i should put it.i guess the science faculty is a depressing place with corroded buildings (what will u expect when there's chemical fumes in the air) and practically no life.even the dining area isnt in the building itself and is a hot and stuffy place as compared to the business school, which has a nice entrance, good air and the dining area located on the top floor. sigh i reallie dont know.my worries for BA is that since ive been doing science all my life, the sudden switch to arts may be hard to adapt.and also there's a large majority involving econs (which im ok with studying but the exams may not agree with me).i also dont know what to expect being a science student at all.i wonder if the prospective BA students but were science students have such thoughts too. anyway that was the morning.afternoon i went to cycle tandum with my sis at eash coast and I SAW MS YIAK CYCLING WITH HER BF THERE ! think that caught me by surprise cos she didnt reallie come across as a person who likes the great outdoors.and she looked reallie happy =) and im only left with two more days with the company im working at! oh yeah no more clementi i hope.though with nus im gonna spend the rest of my 4yrs there.ha.

sorry ive been too busy and neglecting my blog ! finally uploaded the few pictures from my hk trip.actually i came back on 13th around midnight but was too busy on the 14th picking up my phone and all.so here's some of the pictures i took !
许留山 has great mango desserts ! im wondering why they dont open a branch here cos im pretty sure the cold desserts will go down well with the singaporean crowd.afterall we have plenty of good mango here as well.
my grandma cutting her cake.  we went to visit ocean park after years.i cant even rmb when we last went.we just had to take a picture with the flowers shaped like jelly fishes.i think their displays there are quite well set up and their aquariums are reallie huge ! though not as many as underwater world but their size is on par.  and ironically, we had a korean dinner as recommended by my uncle and aunt.they served like 10 or more cold dishes and then hot plate with yummy beef ! i think their beef there is just fabulous.and then there was bimbimbap, beef stew and all which was all so good.i think when i went to korea we didnt even have such an elaborate meal with so many cold dishes.  and the last afternoon where we had dim sum at maxim again.the restaurant is located just at the shopping centre next to the hotel.haha.i reallie like their 马蹄糕 and this sweet crispy pastry known as 蛋散, which is something like a whole big piece of the hk pastry.i dunno the chinese way to write it haha.and the food's reallie cheap ! and reallie reallie good. overall my trip was just nice.the weather was a comfortable 15-21C and i could just go around with a jacket.and i did more shopping than i ever did.on the morning before i left i spent more than HK$500 ! luckily it was all from the ang paos we got =) managed to grab a jacket, a swim suit, konad nail plates, nail polish, a bossini top and two camisoles.and some little foods to enjoy too ! haha. think this job is pretty nice though the distance is killing me.on both mornings last wk i almost missed the company bus twice at 830 at clementi though i started out reallie early.like 715 ? bleah.thank goodness it's only lasting till next friday.ohhh yeah and food is much cheaper =p eliz shared a cookie at Saturday, March 10, 2007

hellllooooooo !it's quite early to blog but my mom woke us all up at 9am to go to maxim to have dim sum early in the morning. which was especially tough considering we landed in hk at abt 10.30, but only reached the hotel at 12-1am, and slept only at 2am.okay actually the 2am part was mainly caused by us watching mtv for a while.haha. but anyway breakfast was great and only 300+ HK dollar for the 5 of us.and we ate like kings ! dim sum of all sorts including stuff we can never get in singapore.and we left some stuff to try out tml when we go there to eat again. staying at the royal plaza hotel has it's advantages too.with the shopping mall so close to us.mom has promised me s$100 to spend here so i shall see whether they have clothes worth buying.afterall it's the end of winter coming to spring.the weather is pretty comfortable.though we expected it to be colder, the warm front is coming and i can even walk around in the mall without a sweater on.but i dunno abt outside, shall see later. mom and dad have gone to the hospital to meet up with the doctors leaving me and my sisters to enjoy the hotel room lols.there's like over 30 tv channels and some canton song is playing on mtv now.think this is the first hotel we've stayed in with a nice lobby.usually the hotels are so squashed for space that they cant even have a lobby at all. oh yeah and i watched dreamgirls on the plane last night.pretty good considering that it's only out in the cinemas now.though the storyline was kinda simple but their acting was commendable. found out that dad will be leaving for the us early monday morning, so that's when i will be cut off from the rest of the world (he'll be taking his laptop with him u see).so that leaves me, my mom and my sisters.all females ! woah. the weighing machine in the room seems to be wrong.im a few kg lighter than i shld be.oh well but when im back in singapore i shall dread my weight gain ! and jo, if i dont get to blog anymore before your trip, ENJOY TAIWAN ! =) see you guys soon ! eliz shared a cookie at Thursday, March 08, 2007

my top five reasons to be happy today:1. my LONG OVERDUE paycheck finally came in the mail ! 2. found a temp job lasting a wk 3. flying to hk tml ! 4. mom approves of me getting a nets card 5. found proof of purchase for phones YEAH ! better and better. gotta start packing tonight so that tml i can go down to the service centre. went to the smu website today to look at their BBM course.seems decent but i dunno whether i shld go for it. it's either food tech at nus, business admin at nus or BBM at smu.narrowed to 3 now. anyway had a good time talking to sze today over msn.and there was a funny joke she told me which i found quite funny.haha shall post it to share with everyone: Four Catholic ladies are having coffee together, discussing how important their children are: The first one tells her friends, "My son is a priest. When he walks into a room, everyone calls him 'Father'." The second Catholic woman chirps, "Well, my son is a bishop. Whenever he walks into a room, people say, 'Your Grace'." has anyone tried frying cocktail sausages before ? it was my first time yesterday and i found the whole process pretty cute !which explains why i had to capture the process on film =p first, after pouring the sausages from the packet into the pan.they look kinda dented in and pinkish.  after a few minutes they start browning, but are still kinda pink.and also they start to fill out and look more..sausagey ? as they fill out they start to move and jump around in the pan ! sizzle sizzle.  and after a few more mins they reallie get browner.  and finally, onto the plate and paper towel so absorb excess oil !  i wanted to send my phone for servicing cos of the auto-off problem BUT i cant find the proof of purchase ! DAMN.must have been because i got it during a lvl period and couldnt be bothered with keeping it properly at that time. ive been looking high and low, day and night and it's nowhere ! ugh.i hate this feeling. eliz shared a cookie at Monday, March 05, 2007

life's good !after getting my results on friday i think everythng seems to be getting better and better =) unexpected aabb b4 ! i cried in front of ms yiak when she put the results in front of me.i was just too relieved after thinking that maybe i wont even pass (based on my jc grades).thank goodness! and then i hugged sze and we both were crying ! (i only found out from her post) and because it was raining i went home straight.i regret ! i shld have gone out to celebrate ! another memory gone. my fmaily and i went to have dinner and vivo on sat night.at first we wanted to have crystal jade but turns out the set menu was like $348+++ for 4 persons.i was saying it's not worth it.so we settled with this jap restaurant along the same stretch called aji by Hanabi.they were offering this ala carte buffet for $42++ and there was such a wide selection ! so we jumped for it =)  my sis enjoying her salmon sashimi, mushroom salad, and veg tempura me tucking into my mixed platter of sashimi mom and her chawanmushi, dad with his beef steak me and unagi yummy !.jpg)  the second time round my other sis and the prawn and veg tempura my dad reaching out for a prawnnow im in a dilemma on which course to choose.i was thinking btwn food science or business admin or commerce.gotta reallie do background reserach before i make this choice.i cant imagine being stuck with something i dont wanna study for 4+ years ! eliz shared a cookie at Friday, March 02, 2007

so today's the day.the day of reckoning.was thinking abt it last night as i wrote my letters to elea and ping and talked to my friend over the phone for almost 2h.will it be a deja vu of what happened 2yrs ago when i got my olvl results? or will it be a totally diff scenario this time round? can almost see the students sitting in the hall waiting for the results and freezing away since the weather is unusually cold today.oh goodness.in 5h we're gonna know! all the best to everyone ! =) on another note, the news which rocked singapore last night must have been the 9yr old pregnancy.the youngest ever ! goodness i was utterly shocked when my mom told me.what are kids nowadays coming to ? and what about her 14 year old partner and schoolmate? what's he doing in primary school since she's only p3? my friend and i were joking over the phone that if she has a kid at 9, and her future kids (assuming they're daughters) have kids at 9 too, they'll live to see generations ! and that will probably fit into the govt's agenda of closing the expanding age gap btwn generations and solve the problem of low birth rate ! but at what cost. wonder what their family backgrds are like.and how can the girl live through her future yrs being branded as the girl who was pregnant at 9? apparently that's not a guinness world record though. wonder what time elea wants me to meet with her and ping.it's gonna be a long and agonizing wait ! eliz shared a cookie at |
