could i say it was an eventful yet uneventful wkend?well friday was kinda interesting. first, we got up at 515 to send my sis to sch and then went to have breakfast at macs.at 6+ in the morning ! and we tried the new fish big breakfast which is actually the fillet o'fish fillet.it tastes more fishy than in the burger.but it's a better alternative as compared to the sausage patty nonetheless. and during work i took the 3 min step test in office where they made u step up and down this 'step' and then measure your heart rate. ok mine was horrible but i guess that comes with not exercising for half a yr (whenever PE stopped) ? and then the workout from 5-6pm which they only implemented this yr.it reallie worked the thigh muscles more than anywhere else and yeah, as expected, achy thighs the next morning. and then dinner at j8 with my sis on friday night.all sweaty and tired out.so we decided to have mos yakinuku rice burger (WHICH WAS A HORRIBLE LETDOWN SO DONT TRY IT) and fries with milkshake.and then i went to the new arcade there and wasted money in a short short 15mins.ugh i guess im just too lousy at time crisis.and i cant remember when was the last time i went to an arcade. AND I GOT ACCEPTED BY NUS ! but i didnt feel the same exhiliration as when i got the letter from smu.now comes the tough part of deciding all over again. and oh we went to botanic gardens and then to Chang (a korean retaurant) in Dempsy Road.and it was just a simple korean dinner to me, but it added to a whopping 207bucks ! ugh that's 4 days of work ! just on one meal ! luckily the food wasnt too bad cos they served good beef and pork for the bbq.  mom waiting with all the plates of raw pork, beef and chicken the waitress cutting up the korean seafood pancake for us. the cold side dishes and some raw onion salad.  and the bbq starts ! look at my happy mom =) and now back to work ! so glad that it's a public holiday tml.it's the last in a longlong time (i think the next is in august? ).and thank goodness i didnt take leave today cos my mom is in an insane mood, where her motto probably is: IRRITATE her ELDEST DAUGHTER for NO apparent reason. eliz shared a cookie at Thursday, April 26, 2007

yesterday was a super happy day !first, we had noodle day.that means my colleagues and i cooked instant noodles in the pantry using the microwave and ate together.i think the cooking process was pretty slow (we took like half an hour) but eventually the dry tom yam noodles with the bai cai and the instant egg was pretty satisfactory =) but i liked the process of cooking it.haha. and then, mom called sometime after lunch to announce that a letter with the word CONGRATULATIONS emblazoned all over the top came from SMU ! and she didnt wanna open it despite her gan cheong-ness and all, so she had to wait for me to get home and open it.so im accepted into Bbm ! oh yeah ! now just to wait and see whether NUS accepts me too.and then there's gonna be that dilemma of which to choose all over again. think this yr ive had so many tough choices to make.and they're all so risky in that sense.like one wrong move and everythng would go down the drain.luckily what ive been doing so far has been alright. lunch time ! eliz shared a cookie at Tuesday, April 24, 2007

la la la it's after lunch and work continues !shall just rant on whatever is on my mind. 1. i am horribly full of hor fun now all thanks to lunch at 123 where the hor fun is only 2bucks ! freaking cheap. 2. 3pin is a super scary person (understatement). well judging from what sze said, thank goodness im far far far away from her ! and i havent ever heard of that programme. 3. cant wait to have ice cream with cheryl and oslyn later tonight =) 4. and it's so dark and rainy here.nice weather to sleep in ! 5. my eye is feeling so dry ! haha random enough ? eliz shared a cookie at Sunday, April 22, 2007

yeah yeah and i baked once again. after a reallie long time of not using the oven.those with the dots (actually they're chocolate chips) are well, obviously chocolate chip. the other six are cranberry and apple. think they're pretty nice cos they're moist and not too sweet. ideal for ppl like me whose waistlines are expanding due to sitting in front of the computer all day ^^  of late, i find that a certain friend and i have been drifting apart. well maybe it's only from my point of view. and my supervisor asked me to extend my work AGAIN ! well well. but im going overseas on the 29th and thus im stopping on the 28th. should i join them again after my trip? that would be after the 8th. and im planning to keep my whole of july free so that i wont like end my work and go to uni right after. the thought of it is pretty depressing. wanted to shop for new shoes yesterday but couldnt find any to my liking. it's always the case ! shopping for shoes is an exasperating and (most of the time) going-home-empty-handed pastime. ugh why cant i just find the shoe that im looking for ! other than that, things are working out pretty fine i guess. with a little exception or two. eliz shared a cookie at Wednesday, April 18, 2007

well what can i say.another weirdly depressing week.ok im making it sound as though it's friday already but very unfortunately it is only mid wk.what's wrong with me ? i dont think it's got anythng to do with work cos the workload was considerably lighter these few days.and afterall i got my day of leave which was yesterday. and i dont think it's got anythng to do with the smu interview either.i gave it my best shot and havent given any of my answers second thoughts or regretted what i said.so that shldnt be that problem ! could it be strained friendships? i dunno. it's just oddly weird. i need some happy food. reallie happy food.          let me be drunk please. eliz shared a cookie at Friday, April 13, 2007

ouch it's friday the thirteenth !as we were in the car on the way home, my youngest sis was saying 'nothing has happened to me today !' and guess what she slipped on the sopay backyard floor and landed butt down on the ground. as for mom, she pulled her leg muscle. my other sis forgot her facts when she went to sch (was there a test? i dunno). as for my dad, i dont know. and i havent had anythng that bad yet. shant say it so quickly though.there's still an hour to go before the end of friday.. anyway here's a video for 'this ain't a scene, it's an arm's race'.it doesnt make much sense to me but it's closely related to alot of political matters and their lives i guess. take a look =) need to reallie take a break this wkend. HAPPY EASTER !just heard my supervisor saying that she needs me until the 28th of may.which is just one day before i leave for adelaide ! ah im sure if i could stay longer she would want me to stay for as long as i can =p but this saves me the trouble of looking for another temp job lasting for those few weeks before my trip. 
recently ive been converting back to listening to english songs. think the quality of music is gettin better and better ! as compared to when i listened a few years back(i started with english, then went to chinese, then both, to chinese and now to english again). the trend now is more of heavy metal.it's more interesting and creative in that sense.and u get more variety as compared to chinese music. especially like the two songs i just added to my playlist. happy long wkend to all ! and happy good friday !it's been a rather good week. firstly, what's not good abt a 4-day work week? haha. mmm and my supervisor is extending my work for at least another month ! so it's a good thing in the sense that i'll be able to work till about the end of may.more income=more spending power. and following that, we've already got a holiday booked on the 29th of may ! adelaide again for a few days and then syndey. WOOHOO. that means more shopping and more chocolates =) and ive got an interview with smu scheduled on the 17th, 11am.ahhhhh that made me quite scared cos they even need me to bring stationery to write an essay on the spot.oh gosh if they're asking me to write abt econs I AM SO DEAD. and yesterday, we went for a one day trip to johor and kukup.the trip was not off to a good start cos the people were absolutley horrible.in the sense that we had to 'fight' for the food and they were like so unwilling to wait or care about the welfare of others.sadly that's the ugly selfish side of singaporeans.and the tip kinda changed my outlook on some stuff (like how they make those biscuits) cos of the lousy standard of hygiene and such. but i guess it was okay when we were left to do shopping in johor for 1 1/2 h at this new jusco mall which is the equivalent of vivo city in msia.though not as high end but probably to malasysians, guess, topshop, elle and shops as such are already considered high end. and the best buy of the day ! DONUTS!    buy 9, free 3 for only RM18.90 ! wow and they taste reallie reallie good.i think my love for donuts existed all along, except it was masked (sounds so much like the recessive allele being masked by the dominant allele).haha.now it's finally showing itself ! but im not willing to queue at the donut place at raffles city and also to pay $1.10 per donut ! actually i think the donut industry might be rather easy to break into, considering donuts are all the same other than their topping and name.product differentiation makes a big difference in this case. i mean chocolate is all the same chocolate base isnt it? and the donut is all the same fried donut. so what's so difficult about making it? hmmmmm. eliz shared a cookie at Monday, April 02, 2007

so i got a surprise (or was it more of a shock) when i reached the office today.turns out that friday was stephanie's last day too and i never knew it.until i came in this morning.ugh i think that working has made my brain slower.and well it's sad that she's been dismissed cos now ive one less working khaki and the lab is so much quieter now.and ive gotta be reallie careful as well. anyway shall post on what i did over the wkend.saturday was kinda placid until dinner time where we went to ikea to hunt for a new bedside table for myself.mom was hunting for her kitchen cabinet to put the dish drainer on.managed to get both. and i treated them to dinner at ikea ! anyway forgot to mention we went to the new tampines ikea.AND IT WAS REALLIE CROWDED.first, we had to fight to get a table to sit down (and it's especially hard when u have 5 members in the family).and then after getting a big enough table, we HAD TO QUEUE AGAIN TO GET THE FOOD.so we queued and queued and finally got the food.which was the usual ikea fare like meatballs, chicken wings, salad and dessert.i think their cheesecake was good and cheap (3bucks only !).sadly the didnt sell the frozen version at their shop.but anyway about time i treated them since i didnt give them any money =) and the new home theatre system came on sunday afternoon.i think as compared to our old pioneer one this has an older feel to it.that's my opinion.mom thinks that it's better cos the speakers are smaller-i beg to differ.the downside is that the radio is kinda blur even with the antenna so i gotta spend some time getting it in good working order.but i miss the old set ! =( ok so lunch is gonna be over.the pantry is too full so i end up eating at my workdesk and blogging at the same time.multi-tasking ! and hann hann, a very happy belated birthday ! eliz shared a cookie at |
