WORK WORK WORKwhat's there to say when my 5days are spent in the office, from 9-6pm, calling customers non-stop? hmm it's not that stressful yet, at least i managed to complete 100 customers in 2 days on my 1051 list of customers. that's kinda on schedule, but nope im not hitting the 10% target of sales yet. (in fact it isnt even anywhere close ..) thank goodness there's other people in the same (sorry) position as me, like hanying, haha not so much in the same state yet but still. and gui ping and eugene :D amazingly we're all 1988 batch! oh yes, spain won germany 1-0 ! haha os i bet you're happy :) decided to sleep and wake up in time for second half, and there was nothing but play in the second half cos torres got the ball in in the first half (33rd min). so yeah watched nothing much but bad game play on germany's part and many missed opportunities.   this was when it all happened. think lehmann has to stop trying to grab the ball before torres kicks it, or he shld just have a tougher grip. not that im saying it's an easy job, but .. it's a costly move in any case.
oh i went to ice skate with my sis on sat after her exams, and it was FREAKING crowded. not with kids this time mind you, but with PROS. in hockey skates. going so fast and practically scratching every inch of ice. it was damn bumpy and it felt as though my right skate had some problem. but i suspect it's the uneven ice. but anyway progress ! i dare to take bigger steps now haha.
think i shld sleep early ! 5h of fragmented sleep is still alright, but if i continue like i dont think i'll have the energy to talk nicely to customers lol. eliz shared a cookie at Thursday, June 26, 2008

shall dedicate this post entirely to food :)well, the french are famous for their 3 course meals, which i had plenty of there. some were nicer than others for sure haha. so yeah enjoy ! and looking at food at this time of the night is making me hungry :( Malakoff Restaurant, Paris  entree: escargots, the first of the lot we ate in france, and the best ones toofrench onion soup main course: lamb with french fries (authentic ones !) and french beans dessert: creme brulee, it was HUGE Pizza Restaurant, Nice  Four cheese pizza, moules (mussel) pizza, some reallie nice salad, and profiteroles. oh actually there was warm apple pie too :)What i call the best-meal-in-the-whole-trip, Nice  entree: i shared with my sis foie gras (omg it was damn freaking good) and something like a salad which was yummy toomain course: mixed grill - duck, lamb and pork, with a nicely done potato pate in the middle dessert: creme brulee Seafood dinner, Cannes  entree: bread with poisson soupmussels in white wine sauce main course: carbonara pasta dessert: no tummy space for dessert :p Close Carnot Restaurant, Beaune  entree: escargots (not as nice as the paris ones)main course: chicken done in a creamy mustard sauce (think dijon mustard) dessert: sorbet, cassis and blackberry which is their specialty there snack: croque, which is cheese on toast essentially Empty Restaurant, Beaune

THE EPISODE OF THECONTACT LENS MUNCHING COCKROACH dated friday 19, 2008 well, i was tired after ice skating and waiting for my hair to dry, and this reallie interesting thing happened lol. happened to go into the toilet without turning on the light, but there was just sufficient light for me to see what i was doing. so yeah, as i was doing my stuff, then i noticed the cockroach on the sink counter just on the right side of the sink. and guess what it was happily devouring my discarded contact lenses ! what a shocking sight ! i totally froze and watched it slowly munch on the first one, finishing everything. then it got to the second on and took it a little further back before continuing its meal. i wanted to kill it, but i didnt have a spray and i didnt feel like whacking it. okay i admit i was waiting for it to choke, or for the lens to cut up its insides so i wont have to actually kill it myself. but that didnt happen so i tried to lure it onto a piece of toilet paper, but of course it failed cos it rain damn fast and i dropped the paper. so plan one failed. plan two: angle the unused container in my bathroom and make it fall in, then throw it into the toilet bowl. and it succeeded! so while it was partially drowning in the water, i picked up the remaining bit of the second contact lens (with paper of course) and threw it into the bowl, and flushed them both down. woohoo. what a stupid cockroach it was ! cant it tell that contact lenses are plastic and not meat? ew. anyway on another note, watch these parodies ! they are freaking hilarious :P enjoy ! james blunt parody shakira parody one shakira parody two. fast forward to 0.48seconds :) eliz shared a cookie at Thursday, June 19, 2008

a break from all the holiday photos ! went ice skating with sze and jo today, and what luck, it so happened to be the day of the promotion where on thursdays, groups of 3 can enter and skate till closing time for the same fee you would pay for 2h, MINUS the skate rental fee !so we only paid $11.80 each and managed to skate from 3.30 - 8pm ! isnt life just good :) oh yes and near closing time, there was this guy (whom sze and i saw skating some time ago cos he looked so.. aj-ish) who had some problem with his locker. in the sense that somehow the laces of his shoes in the locker got closed into the locker below his, so he couldnt get his shoes out and go home. awww. and then as sze and i were going around and jo was resting at the side, he tried to strike a conversation with jo. but she went to get the cam. then he tried to talk to us !! like uhhh, first he asked if we're from china -.- great start. hahah and sze had the most extraordinary moment when i went to get the cam with jo lol :p anyways, it was fun ! and tiring too cos i didnt sit for the 4h or so i skated. and yes i didnt fall ! woo. here's the few pictures we took:      and as i happened to be munching on the stuff i bought from france, i had a brainwave hahah..JPG)  haha it's these little crisps i bought in france to bring back , and luckily they survived without being crushed to bits :) i hope i burnt loads of calories today ! hahah. i so needed the exercise :p euro 2008: germany vs portugal ! oh gosh this is such a good match to watch ! eliz shared a cookie at Monday, June 16, 2008

hi everyone im back ! after 3 weeks :)actually i was back yesterday morning but i was too sleepy cos of the horrible jet-lag plus time difference. france is 6h behind singapore, so i usually sleep around 1, 2am there, which actually means 7 or 8am here. so yes i have become nocturnal lol. anyway i went around europe, landed at Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris and took the TGV and subway all the way to London. stayed in London for a few days, then moved to England (more precisely Manchester) where my uncle and my only two cousins that i know of in this whole world stay. another few days there, before taking a train ride back to Paris, and after a few days by train to Nice which took 6h and i puked like mad. from Nice we went to Cannes, and finally to Beaune. so yeah it was enjoyable and the weather was good. thank goodness i didnt listen to my parents and pack for winter, would have died ! the weather was sunny most of the time (not rainy like we predicted) but it did rain a few times but it was heavy little rain, if you get what i mean hahah. and btw things in the uk are much cheaper than in france, so yeah. but the food is good everywhere :) okie here are the pictures ! starting with .. LONDON we landed in Paris early morning after 12h, and the airport staff.. what can i say about them. made me feel asuper unwelcome. and this is the train station where we had to wait a few hours cos the computers were down and the trains were all delayed. luckily ours was at 12plus (paris time) so it wasnt so badly affected. and we hung around and had haagen daz.  doesnt the train station look like it came out of a harry potter movie? haha random. so it took us about 3h if i didnt rmb wrongly. we went under the english channel and i just rmb i was sleeping almost the whole ride. then we had to tranfer to the london tube to get to our hotel. and while lugging our luggage from the subway to our hotel, we went past trafalgar square and decided to camwhore for awhile. haha. for the rest of the day we rested awhile, then went on the open decked bus for a sightseeing tour of london. before heading for dinner which was at a reallie odd time cos of time diff. went to a steak chain restaurant called Angus Steak House. us and our first huge meal in london. i think drinking while you're tired is never a good idea. the next day we did more touring on the bus and dropped off near buckingham palace to watch the changing of guards. and there were so many people i was like squeezing in btwn to keep my spot.after that we went to St.James Park which is just next to the palace, and there were loads of squirrels and birds. yeah my sis' fav. here's a cute video on two little birds and their mom. turn on the sound !
