after baking for 55mins, we finally got the basic chocolate cake. poked two holes to check for doneness ;p



and to our horror, it's like SUPER THIN. im suspecting it's the baking powder which may have spoilt/didnt work thus causing the cake to not rise much. or did it even rise at all :\



after (super)painstakingly slicing the cake into half horizontally. imagine if it just broke into a million pieces. cut a hole leaving a radius to put the cherry filling in.



after putting the two halves together, we spread jam on the top, but we didnt have cherry jam so i used summerberry jam which i conveniently found in the fridge haha.



icing the cake ! melted chocolate, butter and single cream. it hardened like immediately. and in the background: my dinner which was everything thrown together and microwaved. a mountain of food.

and it tasted good ! not too sweet, moist and not cloying. there's one eeney slice left in the fridge haha. i think that 1000recipes book is a super good buy. everything i tried from it so far hasnt failed !



and mom bought back little persimmons from xian ! they are reallie TINY. but sweet and small enough to pop into your mouth whole :)

haha oh my i think egg mcmuffin in the morning totally makes my day ! i think i prefer that over big breakfast and pancakes now haha.

im so glad cat presentation is finally over. after all the weekends and weekends of meetings in school. now we just need to complete the report yay ! but that means it's also time to start full swing on the marketing and finance projects. and finish up ma too. SIGH.
