projects get the best of meso im left with the two major projects with presentations this week! well, ive talked to quite alot of people (mostly complained actually) but i'll just post to see if it's just me, or there is certainly some problem with those people im talking about. person X: so happen to have quite a few mods with person X. well, it's the case of the less competent one trying to diss the more competent one i guess. in the sense that, im pretty proud of my english language ability, and i think although my english isnt perfect, or wildly chim, it's still passable with not that many grammatical errors. so it's quite natural that i get kinda irritated/hurt/annoyed if people do diss my english. especially if they are of a lower calibre (like person X). just to give a rough background of what happened - i compiled the report, edited till 530am one morning, and i guess being the only local in a group of foreign students reallie doesnt pay. and person X's part was the worse, FULL OF TYPOS, PHRASING ERRORS etcetc. i shant elaborate. so when this person complained that the english was not up to standard, there are grammatical errors 'they each HAS, not HAVE' (and i checked with my sis what i typed [have]was correct), blablabla, i reallie got irritated. i mean, if you wanna diss me, you obviously have to be better than me to do it right? does it make sense? otherwise, what right do you have to say that mine's worse? person Y: for this other project, i feel like im the one pushing everyone to do their parts. okay, the local guy is doing quite a big chunk now, but the other two are still just doing the minimal i guess. once again, it doesnt help to volunteer to give your own contacts to shorten the time taken to find a contact. so, this person didnt go for the interview with HR cos of an internship interview. that's forgiven, but the rest isnt. but moving on, the meeting on sat was kinda to settle questions and stuff, to give ourselves a certain framework. so person Y decided to take the lead (finally?) and started scribbling on the board. Y didnt understand fully what the whole thing was about, even though i painstakingly typed everything which i recorded down from the interview and sent out in email. i think the rest of us all understood since we were there for the interview. so he was like trying to figure out, when Y said 'can you all contribute? im standing up here to write already. if we all dont contribute, this meeting is not going to be effective. and at the end of the day the report still has to be done'. so i was thinking WTH, you are saying we DID NOT CONTRIBUTE? like hello, please open your eyes and take a look before you say what you said okay. so yes, project work does suck to some extent. i reallie dont hope to do anymore modules/projects with these two people. eliz shared a cookie at Thursday, March 26, 2009

the evolution of pucca so it's week 12! like omg. in roughly 1 week it's gonna be study break. it's just way too fast, and i still have yet to secure an internship. bleargh. honestly, project work is getting the better of me. 2 major projects left, and one of them is not even started. and that group is kinda not very proactive? i have to keep pushing on my side, which is kinda over-doing it since i provided the contact and all in the first place. i think my weekend is gonna be dedicated to it. been wanting to gorge myself silly on cravings, like sweet stuff and dessert. and bubble tea even. eliz shared a cookie at Wednesday, March 18, 2009
